Key Benefits
- Prevents dryness: Keeps your nose, mouth, and throat from becoming sore or bleeding.
- Improves comfort: Makes long-term or high-flow oxygen therapy easier to tolerate.
- Encourages compliance: Reduces nasal irritation so you are more likely to wear your oxygen as prescribed.
How to Use a Bubble Humidifier
- Fill the bottle: Unscrew the cap and fill the jar with distilled water up to the maximum fill line. Do not use tap water, as minerals can build up.
- Secure the cap: Tighten the lid carefully to avoid cross-threading and air leaks.
- Connect to the source: Attach the humidifier bottle directly to your oxygen concentrator or flow meter and hand-tighten.
- Test for leaks: Set the flow rate to 4 liters per minute (LPM) and block the outlet; the safety relief valve should pop or whistle within 15 seconds.
- Attach tubing: Connect your nasal cannula or delivery tubing to the humidifier outlet, then adjust the flow meter to your prescribed setting.
